Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

A very nice couple left “Heb 4:12” for me, in addition to their 20 percent tip. They were super friendly and normal, not to mention totally chill. Definitely did not expect a scripture from them.

But of all the goddamn scriptures to be spreading, THIS is the one they choose? My interpretation of this is that the word of God is “alive and active” because Hebrews 4:12 says it is. Seeing as I am definitely not too adept at scriptural translation, my interpretation could very well be off. But I really don’t think so. And to offer this to a waitress, of all people?

This line of reasoning doesn’t hold up on the kindergarden playground, why does it hold up in the holiest of Christian texts?

Lame.
